Make Brushing More Fun With the Minions

This post is my entry to Nuffnang and Colgate's giveaway.

I am blessed to have parents who instilled in me the importance of taking care of my teeth.  I can still remember those times when my father took me to see the dentist in a big house. Later on, we knew a dentist from church whom we consulted for dental care. I'm thankful to say that after 40+ years I still have all my permanent teeth. Not needing dentures is so much convenient and less expensive.

What I learned from my parents, I hope to pass on to my children. I want them to take good care of their teeth. When we were still in Saudi Arabia, we could afford to have our children go to their regular dental visits. Their dentist helped them maintain a healthy smile. She also taught them good dental habits, including how to properly brush their teeth and how to use dental floss.

Aside from the dental visits, I remember singing the song "This is the way I brush my teeth, brush my teeth .... early in the (morning)" when my kids are brushing their teeth. I really wanted them to learn proper dental care. Making tooth brushing fun for them is the first step towards their learning and keeping the habit.

I know that many kids don't brush their teeth. Why? Well, they could have different alibis -- from being lazy to postponing brushing their teeth until they forget to do so. It's sad that many parents aren't able to guide their children in taking good care of their teeth.

Having the right products plays a big role in making tooth brushing fun and enjoyable. Of course, you need to give them a good toothpaste with a flavor they love. And to complete the pair, you need to give them a toothbrush that suits their age and grabs their interest.

The good news for moms and dads out there is that Colgate has the products that could make tooth brushing for kids more exciting. It is Colgate’s Minions toothbrush and Minions toothpaste.

Kids will enjoy brushing their teeth using a toothbrush designed with a cartoon character they like. I know this is so because we bought our sons their Power Rangers toothbrushes when they were still small and they like using them to brush their teeth.

My daughters loved watching the Despicable Me movie and the Minions. Having these fancy characters on their Minion toothbrushes could encourage them to brush their teeth with extra excitement and consistency. Angel also like the bubble gum flavor of Colgate's Minions toothpaste. I was surprised to see her brushing her teeth twice the first time she tried it.

If you want to buy this set of Colgate’s Minions toothbrush and toothpaste to make brushing more fun, the product is available for purchase at Lazada. Just click the links below to check the price. As of this writing, the product is sold at a discount of 25%.

Do your kids brush their teeth regularly? What steps have you taken to help them develop good dental habits?

My family Dentist based in Bethesda told me the health of this area of the face reflects the condition of your body in general. For example, when your mouth is healthy, the same goes for your body. On the other hand, if you have poor oral health, you may have other ailments, "said dentist Edgar Hinostroza, Dental Prosthetics Academic Coordinator of the CarriĆ³n Institute.

Knowing this, the specialist offers some recommendations to maintain that caring that area:

1.- Visiting the dentist regularly will help maintain a healthy mouth, in addition to allowing the dentist to observe problems that may be the sign of other diseases.

2.- Brush your teeth after each meal.

3.- Always use dental floss and mouth rinses to protect your gums.

4.- Do not forget to renew your brushes every three times.

5.- A balanced diet avoiding sweets and foods high in sugars will prevent the presence of caries in your mouth
